Family Packages
Waterfall Mountain and Mellonsfolly ranch quickly becomes a magical place for young people of any age especially kids under 13 yrs.
After a long journey they are ready to bust free and within a very short time are playing at being cowboys – cap guns and all. There is a heap of exploring to do just around the town BUT…
The old West town is authentically built. Your children will need your support and your supervision, toddlers especially.
Our Town is generally recommended for children 8 yrs and older.
There are boardwalks, steps, stairs, woodfires, campfires, bluffs, hills, streams, rivers, goats, deer, waterfalls, shooting, archery, slippery tracks in wet weather, vehicle rides… all the things you may say that kids will love…and you are right.
It is a paradise for young families but…This is a wilderness area. We are remote and we are rural. There are no safety nets. They need to be supervised at all times. We’ll help.

Family Accommodation
The Old Mine Building is an ideal Family Accommodation choice. Two double bunk rooms ‘Geronimo’ and ‘Sitting Bull’, a family area, a kitchenette, and bathroom downstairs are shared with a queen bed “ANNIE OAKLEY’ themed room, upstairs for Mum and Dad. The rooms are decorated with Sioux and Pawnee Indian artefacts and a real buffalo hide. The rooms are at the end of the town near our abandoned gold mine and the haunted miner’s shack.
The Bunkhouse is an accommodation only building down at the ranch, 50 metres below the town, on the road in. The Bunkhouse features a queen double bed in one room and four single bunks in another. A shared en-suite joins the two rooms. It is built in the style of the ranch house next door. Both can be hired to provide less formal accommodation only, for up to 10 people. Not as grand, but close and definitely Cowboy! Meals are available in the Town, but the Ranch house has a kitchenette and essential facilities.
The Bunkhouse usually acts as overflow accommodation for ‘rent the ranch’ occasions.
We offer special rates for families during summer and school holidays and some public holidays when available.
‘Pawnee Bill’ is twin share king singles room and the adjacent ‘Pony Express’ has two king sized bunks The rooms are joined by a shared en-suite bathroom and can be an excellent family environment, especially for families with older children.
The rooms are situated behind the blacksmiths shop in town and next to the back door of Nancy Ann’s Hotel for Single Girls and therefore popular with young cowboys in from the range.
WE also have premium family accommodation in the town

Keeping Teenagers interested.
Teenagers love freedom and exploring new places, there's no TV or video games but they'll be happy pitching horseshoes, playing Pool, sitting around the campfire at night, watching western movies or hanging out, especially if they are located in the Old Mine Building. There’s plenty of wildlife to look for and lots of quiet country areas where you can retreat to for your own solitude. During your stay (weather permitting) they may get to sit around a campfire and watch the flames dance under the stars.
Gun slinging is undertaken by teenagers with parent’s authorisation and waiver signed by both, and is under the supervision of The Range Marshal whose word is law. Any casual, careless or disobedient behaviour will make any guest ineligible to shoot.
Gun slinging and target shooting are both supervised activities only.

Remember - some kids do grow up to be cowboys
